GENERATIONS : DAZ Studio and Poser Character Evolutions

April 11, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - April 12, 2020 @ 9:30 pm BST

Free – $25
  • « Artbreeder : New Developments and Improvements
  • VUE : Stunning Skies »

Both DAZ Studio and Poser have seen a long line of characters created over time. As each generation of character arrived, artists invest in content that might soon be outdated or made incompatible by the time a new figure hits the market. Some backward compatibility exists and there are utilities that help convert clothing content, but sometimes there’s confusion and pain when trying to fit cool looking clothing from generation X on a character in generation Y.

In this two session workshop, we’re pooling together the collective experience of DAZ Studio artists (we’re also featuring Carrara) and Poser artists to share valuable experience on working with different generation characters. It’s also about a celebration of the evolution, since there are fond memories of using that older content. Plus in certain circumstances there are some real advantages to using older characters.

As well as looking at compatibility between generations in the respective Poser and DAZ Studio stables, there is of course some limited cross over between the base meshes (older meshes) of Poser and DAZ Studio.

This is a community workshop where DAZ Studio and Poser artists are invited to share their tips and artwork in the respective sessions on the topics below

If you have a useful tip to share, even if it’s just for a few minutes, then please get in touch!
