Digital Art Live Issue 1
Issue 1 of Digital Art Live marked the beginning of a magazine created with a simple purpose: to inspire digital artists by shining a light on the people behind the artwork.
From the very first pages, the magazine set out to uncover the creative processes, motivations, and personal stories of artists working in the 3D, sci-fi, fantasy, and visual storytelling worlds.
This debut issue introduced readers to a diverse group of creators, each sharing their artistic journey, workflows, and the challenges they faced while building compelling scenes. Interviews explored not only how these artists work — the software they use, the tools they trust, the renders they’re most proud of — but also why they create. The result is a blend of practical insight and human perspective that defined the tone of all future issues.
Across its pages, Issue 1 highlighted early breakthroughs in rendering, character creation, and digital composition. It featured showcases of atmospheric sci-fi art, richly detailed fantasy scenes, and character-driven storytelling pieces that pushed beyond simple imagery into narrative illustration. The visuals were paired with thoughtful commentary about inspiration, creative habits, and learning curves, giving readers both practical tips and emotional encouragement.
The launch issue also reinforced the core value that Digital Art Live would continue to champion for years: the power of community. Artists shared advice, resources, and behind-the-scenes glimpses that helped readers feel connected to a broader creative world. Whether a newcomer or a seasoned artist, readers could see themselves reflected in the creative struggles and successes of others.
Looking back, Issue 1 stands as the foundation of DAL’s long-running mission: to celebrate the artist behind the render and to create a learning environment built on curiosity, inspiration, and shared passion for digital art.
