A Brief History
Back in 2015, science-fiction artist Paul Bussey envisioned a magazine for digital artists that would:
- Showcase the art community he loved
- Provide a more human angle on some of the best digital artists of the time.
- Give every reader, novice or pro, a source of inspiration and a toolkit for better worlds & characters
The editor David Haden, a meticulous writer, interviewer and layout designer. Meeting every week with Paul, David:
- Planned features & interview line-ups
- Conducted and transcribed long-form interviews
- Curated gallery spreads & wrote hands-on tutorials
- Created a polished, professional publication loved by thousands of readers.
Over six years the pair built an archive spanning 72 issues—a living chronicle of digital-art innovation.
You can support David’s ongoing projects—including fresh tutorials, reviews and interviews—on his digital-arts blog: jurn.link/dazposer/.
Issue 72 (published October 2022) was the last Digital Art Live publication and is under copyright of David Haden, which you can gain here for free or with a donation.
