Latest Midjourney Features for Consistent Character Artwork
Sunday March 24 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm GMT
Have you wondered if you could create a complete visual narrative using AI Tools to assist you in creating the story and artwork?
With the latest version 6 update of Midjourney introduced this month, it provides a large leap forward for consistent character generation (and combined with other tools) it’s very possible to now do this!
Consistent character generation is one part of the Visual Narrative creation process and it has been a Holy Grail for visual narrative artists. In this community workshop I show you the new version 6 of Midjourney with three different sets of experiments I have been conducting to discover:-
- What’s working with using the new Midjourney features?
- What limitations still exist?
I’ll be looking at questions such as:-
- Do environments still affect character faces?
- What are the limits of consistent clothing?
- Are full body shots still affecting character face cohension?
In this workshop we will also include:-
- Community sharing of consistent character tips – I’d love to see what you’ve achieved with the latest Midjourney
- Community sharing of any visual narrative stories (even just a few panels) that have used consistent character generation

This is a path-finding coaching group developed especially for Visual Narrative Artists wanting to use tools such as Midjourney, DALL-E3 and ChatGPT to assist them creating sequential artwork.
- Are you curious about how these tools could create the frameworks for a complete Visual Narrative?
- Have you hit limitations with using them to try and do this?
- Are you figuring out how to generate consistent artwork for a story?
In this coaching group, we are going to work on techniques using Midjourney, DALL-E3 and ChatGPT to assist in creating Visual Narrative stories so that you can…
1. Overcome guesswork at trying to create consistent visual elements for your story (characters, locations, props)
2. Plan ahead with a “visual database“
3. Work together and learn how to get fairly consistent “shots” or camera angles of your subjects
4. Study on how to overcome problems with Midjourney “muddling” your text prompt descriptions between different characters or other elements
5. Solving typical issues that Midjourney/DALL-E3 still struggles with.
6. Look at how to gain consistent styling for generated artwork
7. Combine DALL-E3 or Midjourney with ChatGPT to assist in developing and writing visual narratives.
8. Peter von Stackelberg will be a guest presenter detailing his StoryGenius AI assistants especially built for visual narrative artists
We are going to show you how to create a visual story with these tools even if…
1. You’ve never created a story before with digital art tools
2. You feel lost with all of the parameters that Midjourney comes with
3. You’ve felt frustrated with getting inconsistent results with Midjourney.
4. You’ve come across policy constrictions in DALL-E3

Peter von Stackelberg has created a series of custom AI tools to assist writers to create Visual Narratives; tools both for building story structure as well as consistent imagery.
He’s been using ChatGPT 4 and DALL-E 3 to great effect and Peter will be a guest presenter providing two workshops on providing a breakdown on his work and how to best use these assistants.
He’s built four custom defined AI assistants specifically for Visual Narrative artists.
- StoryGenius: Chapter & Scene Outliner – A tool for helping writers develop detailed outlines for chapters and scenes, facilitating structured narrative development. This tool is mentioned as being open for public use, indicating its readiness and availability for writers to implement in their workflow.
- StoryGenius: Story Idea & Plot Design GPT – Aimed at assisting with the generation and design of story ideas and plot structures. This tool is described as the first in a series of GPT tools and requires a ChatGPT+ subscription for access, highlighting its advanced capabilities in assisting with the initial stages of story development.
- StoryGenius: Character Creator – A tool designed for creating detailed character descriptions and designs. This tool automates much of the process of character creation, allowing writers and visual artists to generate characters with depth and consistency. It’s mentioned as being available to the public, providing a resource for those looking to enhance their character development process.
- StoryGenius: Storyboarder – This tool is used for generating storyboards and visual scene layouts, integrating descriptions of camera shots and angles. It’s designed to work with ChatGPT 4 and DALL-E 3 to produce a variety of shots, helping visualize scenes and narrative flow. The tool focuses on improving the consistency of visual style and expressions on characters’ faces, as well as facilitating interaction between characters in a scene.

What past coaching group members are saying…
“Working with Paul and Digital Art Live has given me such a fresh approach upon my art. From a friendly and welcoming environment, to a supporting and cohesive set of tutors and support. Going on the Studio Mastery Course was the biggest leap of faith I have taken with regards to artistic endeavours, and I do not regret a single moment of it. Paul is a wonderful host and lead for the courses and demonstrates the ability to nurture people of all skill levels and help them blossom into the creative delights that they wish to be. I would pick up another course like this in a heartbeat to continue my journey and growth through the creative landscape of my mind” : Ian Franklin
“My experience with Esha and your program for learning rigging is beyond phenomenal. I came in with the impression that this was going to be a quick tutorial on how to setup basic technical settings on how to do a basic rig in DAZ Studio. Boy was I wrong! In a good way! Every time we set up a session, I am blown away by how much detail and problem solving Esha’s sessions go into! I would not have imagined the advanced techniques and attention to detail she brings into each session! I’ve heard a few students call this information priceless, and I agree 100%.
The chat rooms are so full of information! Just reading people’s questions and people’s responses, it’s an invaluable time saver! When I read the questions and their solutions it reminds me, “I would have had to go thru those hiccups myself, and there’s the solution!”. The chat room creates a great sense that you’re not alone, and it gives you a freedom to test things out and get into “trouble”. I am more than satisfied with this course. It has surpassed my expectations and more! I highly, highly recommend this type of session to anyone!” : David Aguiler
