Utilising the Power of ChatGPT with Midjourney

By combining the strengths of two powerful and foundational AI models, you can accomplish remarkable results. In this webinar we look at the synergy between Midjourney and ChatGPT working in harmony.

ChatGPT has the ability to help you in assembling excellent Midjourney prompts that can generate outstanding artwork, but it is best done by feeding it the correct information first about Midjourney; it’s rules, syntax and constraints.

Remember that ChatGPT is limited to knowledge up until 2021 and Midjourney was launched in March 2022 – so ChatGPT is not so aware of Midjourney; it needs to be trained first.

There were certain things I overcame when training ChatGPT about Midjourney:-

• Being specific to ChatGPT. English language has plenty of nuances,  is a complex  communication tool and it easy to be “hazy” when trying to define rules, so there are certain methods I used to be more specific.

• Assuming that everything I fed ChatGPT it understood – ChatGPT is friendly and gives the impression it is nodding it’s head at everything I’m telling it! In real terms ChatGPT will not notify you of ambiguities as you instruct it.

1. It can help you do away with “writer’s block”. Version 5 of Midjourney requires prompts to be now more wordy and descriptive. ChatGPT (being quite wordy itself) can assist you with that!
2. Ideation : ChatGPT can expand your ideas and widen your horizons, helping you generate ideas on a specific topic.
3. Fast prompting : ChatGPT can create multiple prompts efficiently.
4. ChatGPT can build and expand on existing prompts that you’d like to explore.
