How to design and structure your DAZ Creative Projects with a theme in mind

In these two 1.5 hour webinar sessions, learn how to approach a themed project in the concept and design stage. Discover what to watch and plan for in the early stages to reap benefits later on when it comes to production.

Get a complete step by step guide to modelling in Hexagon with themed content in mind. Take advantage of repeating elements used throughout theme props and clothing. Learn about using templates in modelling. We include the UV Mapping process as well (but not rigging – that’s another webinar!).

-How to get started: finding your Main Theme – and turning it into a
Style Guide.

-Start with Concept Headlines to kick off the themed project.

-Best practices with utilising powerful tools to create Mood Boards : considering Colours, Materials, Shapes,

-Fleshing out the idea while considering the technical framework of
your project. What is possible and what isn’t?

-Fixing an idea on paper: Sketches as the first tangible steps of your
workflow.

-Sorting out … how to select what to create from your set of designs and ideas.

Part 2 : Modelling and Mapping

Date: Sunday 4th December at 20:00 GMT/12:00 PST/15:00 EST

Duration: 1.5 hours of live tuition from an experienced DAZ Content Vendor

-Step by step modelling exercise with Hexagon

-Select repeating elements of your project (eg. small ornament,
or button).

-Modeling that simple piece of your themed content in Hexagon.

-Working with Instances in Hexagon: a huge timesaver when you are
dealing with repetitive arrays of the same object.

-Using instances to speed your workflow

-UV Mapping with UV Mapper Pro and UV Mapper Layout

-Model, UV map, copy & paste! The holy Trinity of time saving and how
it can save you time and headache.

-How to market : Top promo tips and examples for your themed products

Kim Schneider

Kim attended the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Design and Illustration.

Over the years Kim has done work in the role-playing game industry applying her illustration skills for RPG games such as Engel for Feder & Schwert, Redaktion Phantastik, and the Pegasus Spiele game—Call of Cthulhu.

Her journey into 3D Digital Art began in 2000 with Poser (yes fourteen years of Poser experience!), then Poser Pro and started vending Poser content in 2006. She’s since been now hard at work at creating content for DAZ Studio.

She delves into other packages occasionally including Carrara, Bryce, Terragen and used Hexagon for modelling. She also uses GIMP, Photoshop elements and UV Mapper Pro in her workflow.
