Welcome to Digital Art Live
Welcome to Digital Art Live!
I’m Paul Bussey the editor of 3D Art Direct – an on-line magazine dedicated to in-depth interviews with 3D digital artists. We’ve published over 50 issues and helped promote the work of over 120 artists. The 3D Art Direct project has now drawn to a close, but we are about to launch a new magazine “Digital Art Live” that has a similar format and now endorses the work and promotion of 3D and 2D artists in one monthlly publication.
To date we have specialised in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, though character art and landscapes are often featured in our articles.
We’ve worked with artists using Poser, DAZ Studio, ZBrush, Terragen, Vue, 3DS Max, Bryce, Carrara, Cinema 4D, Groboto, Hexagon, Lightwave, Mandelbulb, POV-Ray and Wings 3D.
Increasingly we are finding some striking examples of work where mixed mode is used where both 3D and 2D tools are applied. We’re happy to now open our promotion to artists using such software as Photoshop, GIMP and Painter.
We’ll publish the very first issue at the beginning of October but you can sign up now in anticipation to receive this edition which will have a focus on the theme of “Future Grand Designs” – stunning illustrations of science fiction architecture, where we will include the remarkable work of Tarik Keskin.
This site will be dedicate to the promotion and discussion of digital art and we’re most interested in the stories that come out of creating your projects and the inspiration behind them. Through learning these stories we can ultimately raise the game of other artists by revealing the techniques, workflow and other nuances that make the creative process easier and more satisfying to do.
Promotion and discussion of this artwork will occur through live webinars, the magazine and our podcast. We’d love to have you involved through one of these media channels and indeed we’re on Facebook and Twitter as well.
