Composition Workshop

July 3, 2022 @ 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm BST

Free – $25.00
  • « Visual Narratives Workshop
  • Scene Creation in Blender for Beginners : Introductory Session »

Artwork above by Artur Rosa

Strong composition makes use of techniques that catch your eye and draw you in – so you are spending time with the art.

A weak composition can result in a confusing or bland image that a viewer passes over quickly, or worse, completely ignores.

No one wants their art to be ignored! Learning to harness the power of advanced composition skills can help your images connect properly with the viewer, leave them with a feeling about your work – they’ll more likely take action and bookmark you as a favourite artist.

In this workshop I’ll be sharing three power tips on composition plus giving you the opportunity to share your artwork where we can learn from each other on composition.

I’d like to challenge you to:-

  • Find your favourite top two renders where you have used composition to good effect
  • Find a render where you have struggled (or still struggling) to find good composition for the elements in the scene.

Let’s share these renders and learn from each other during the workshop.

Premium Ticket

The premium ticket to this event includes:-

  • The HD recording of this workshop
  • A 1 hour 45 bonus tutorial “Mastering Cameras and Composition” by Peter von Stackelberg

This tutorial goes into best practices with virtual cameras and character composition in Daz Studio . It includes how the use of virtual cameras and composition of a scene can alter the way characters are portrayed.

This tutorial will be essential if you wish to :

  • Improve the quality and impact of using character based promotional images.
  • Jam up your knowledge of cameras and how they influence the look of a scene.

This workshop also acts as an introduction to our latest coaching course on Advanced Composition Techniques we’ll be running later in July .

In this coaching course, I am going to show you an Advanced Guide to Composition so that you can:

  • Identify the artistic potential in any 3D set
  • Never have your renders be ignored again.
  • Become fluent with the language of composition : the eight key elements and eight key principles
  • Powerfully communicate with your viewers on where to look and what to feel when they see your art.

We’ll learn together in exploring composition techniques across six appealing 3D sets:-

  • The city set
  • The cave set
  • The canyon set
  • The mountain lakes set
  • The tree lined avenues set
  • The modern villa set
